As part of Dover District Council's ongoing work to address the future of the district, a wide range of exciting developments of all sizes is showing the way forward - and since September this year proposals for the naming of nine new or extended roads have been actioned at Dover District Council. New roads that have named include Galahad Way and Tristram Way, Trafalgar Drive and Queens Courtyard.
This comes as major developments across the district continue to move forward for an exciting future. Work on key developments can already be seen underway, including building on the White Cliffs Business Park and the Dover Sea Sport Centre, work on the new transport depot for Stagecoach (an important step in bringing forward the multi million pound development of Dover Town Centre) and continuing improvements to Dover Priory, ahead of the high speed rail link in 2009.
Cllr Nigel Collor, Cabinet Member for Access and Property Management said: "A range of major developments is certainly moving us forward for exciting times. The naming of new streets and the naming and numbering of properties is a statutory duty for Local Authorities and is a responsibility we take very seriously. This will become increasingly significant as a number of exciting major developments come together and we work hard to address the future."
