Future health service provision will be the subject under examination at Dover District Council when the Scrutiny Committee holds a special review. The Scrutiny (Community and Regeneration) Committee's Review of Future Health Service Provision in the Dover District will be held at 6pm on 17 July at the Council Chambers at Whitfield.
The Committee is looking at a number of key issues. These include to: identify and assess the suitability of proposals from the Eastern and Coastal Kent PCT and East Kent Hospital Trust for the future provision of health services in the district; to assess the results of the Dover Project Consultation and the future of Buckland Hospital; and to examine the suitability of public transport from within the Dover District to hospitals located outside the district. The Committee will be open to the public and visitors are welcome to attend but will not be able to speak at the meeting.
Cllr Jim Hood, Chairman of the Committee said: "Scrutiny at Dover District Council has an excellent track record in dealing with local issues, such as the Review of Access to NHS Dentists within Dover District. We would like to thank the Eastern and Coastal PCT for agreeing to meet with the Committee on such an important issue."
