An exciting new-look reception has opened for business at the Council offices in Whitfield today. This follows a complete refurbishment and a contemporary redesign of the space and the way it is used for the benefit of customers.
The new facility will allow the majority of enquiries to be handled at the first point of contact and will provide a modern environment for:
Improved help and guidance on a full range of Council and Community services
Appointments for professional services such as planning, benefits and housing
Improved accessibility for customers with disabilities
Assisting those customers in need of support.
The reception has been redesigned in partnership with local disability groups to ensure accessibility issues are taken fully into account.
Through research and consultation, we have recognised that payments by Direct Debit, credit cards and debit cards are constantly increasing. The new reception does not include provision for cash payments. Customers will be given support and help to find the best way to pay for services.
The refurbishment follows the success of the Dover District Council @ Your Service office in Castle Street and the corporate contact centre, as part of DDC's ongoing commitment to provide quality modern and accessible customer services throughout the district.
