Nominations In For DDC Elections

Nominations are in for the Dover District Council elections which take place on 3 May - and two former Dover Mayors are standing down.

Margaret Sansum and George Allt - both Labour members - have decided to call it a day, as has former district council chairman Wendy Hansell (Eythorne and Shepherdswell).

Simon Bannister is switching his allegiance from Buckland to Maxton, Elms Vale and Priory.

The Liberal Democrats are mounting their biggest ever challenge, contesting 23 of the 45 seats. The UK Independent Party are also fielding some candidates, there are some Independents, one New Party, one Dover Alliance and two - including former Dover Mayor Ken Tranter - have not specified any party allegiance.
