Police are appealing for information after a man tricked his way into the home of an elderly couple on the Buckland Estate in Dover by posing as a water board official and stole money from a wardrobe.
He called at their home at 8.20 am on the morning of Wednesday 4 April and asked the woman to wait in the lounge and listen for a tapping noise, and the man to wait in the kitchen and run the cold tap. He then went upstairs and stole around £160 from a wardrobe in the bedroom.
The offender is a white man aged 35 to 45 of slight build, 5ft 7in tall, with an Irish accent, dark brown collar length hair. He was wearing a dark fleece top and dark trousers and spoke with a stammer.
