Engineers are trying to repair a fault which has resulted in a power cut to more than a thousand properties in Dover.
Many consumers reported that their electricity supply flickered at about 12.30pm, but others lost power altogether.
Investigations are being carried out near the Duke of York's School following a report that a nearby pylon had "exploded".
