On Friday 5 October staff at Dover District Council jumped into their jeans for national Jeans for Genes day - and raised more than £220 for children's charities.
The annual campaign invites people nationwide to make a difference to the lives of children with genetic disorders by wearing jeans and donating £2. The charity's aim is to raise £3 million and proceeds will help seven national charities, including Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, the National Deaf Children's Society and the Sickle Cell Society. Many Council staff donated £2 to wear jeans to work, and many others who were attending meetings and had to stay with suits also donated to the appeal.
