Dover District Council staff and contractors worked into the early hours, delivering hundreds of sandbags, helping to clear gulleys, and providing help and advice to hundreds of callers to the Out Of Hours helpline, following last night's storm.
The torrential rain caused flooding across much of the area, including the River, Maison Dieu Road and Buckland Avenue areas in Dover, Gore Lane in Eastry, and Owen Square and Albert Road in Deal. Council staff were called in to help with the work and to support Kent Highways and the emergency services. DDC and contractors continue to help clear up after the storms, including clearing the Maison Dieu Gardens area.
For more information, or if you are experiencing any difficulties resulting from the storm, please call the Council on (01304) 821199.
