A fantastic evening of free cinema is coming to Connaught Park this summer with a special 30th anniversary showing of the popular musical Grease, certificate PG, on Friday 22 August. Tickets for the event will be available from next Monday (14 July).
The event is being organised by Dover District Council, and supported by CJ Grays, and gates will open at 7pm. Entry is by ticket only and the film will start around sunset. Visitors are welcome to bring picnics, and there will be food and drink on sale at the event. There is free parking in the town's car parks after 6pm.
Cllr Nigel Collor, DDC Cabinet Member for Access and Property Management, said: "Connaught Park is a superb setting for events like this, and following the tremendous success of last year's event, we are looking forward to another great evening."
There are a limited number of tickets available. Free tickets can be collected from DDC Area Offices and the main Council offices at Whitfield, with a maximum of five tickets per person on a first-come, first-served basis. You must provide proof of being a district resident and be over 18 to collect a ticket.
Connaught Park is also the setting for another event this summer, with a special family day on 20 July to celebrate the 125th anniversary of these popular local gardens.
