As part of an ongoing commitment to listen to communities, support regeneration, and work together for the future of the area, a multi-agency consultation event was held in the community in the Folkestone Road area in Dover on Wednesday (11 November).
The event was hosted as part of a special multi-agency initiative, led by Dover District Council's Community Development team, as part of partnership work to enhance the 'Street Scene' in the district. The Street Scene Strategy aims to work for 'clean, safe, accessible, vibrant and attractive street surroundings'. Partners include Social Services, NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent, Kent Police, the Migrant Helpline, Kent Youth Service, the Local Education Authority, KCC Children's Centre and the Priory Forum.
The consultation event was held at Vale View Primary School. Representatives from various agencies were present and met with residents. People were asked to complete a short questionnaire, which will be evaluated and lead to an action plan for the future. Representatives from a range of agencies have also been out on Folkestone Road with the questionnaire over the past few weeks visiting residents and recording opinions of the public, and questionnaires have been left in the White Cliffs Medical Centre.
Dusos Michael, local resident and business-man, and Chairman of the newly formed multi-agency initiative for Folkestone Road said: "This is important work for the future, and it is great that feedback from the public is informing the way forward. It has been very productive to work with Dover District Council and other agencies, and to support the regeneration of the town, and the work of Dover Pride. We look forward to continuing to work with these partners for the future of Dover."
