Members of the Dover District Sports Council have been given a special thank you for more than 35 years of dedicated voluntary service to the development of sport in the area in a presentation from the Chairman of Dover District Council. The local Sports Council, which was founded in 1972, was wound up in May this year.
Cllr Bernard Butcher, Chairman of Dover District Council said: "We were delighted to thank members of the Dover District Sports Council for their years of dedicated service. We look forward to continuing to build on their work for the future of the district."
Harry Croxton, former Chairman of the Sports Council, said: "I would like to thank all the representatives of all the local clubs who supported the Sports Council over the years, and thanks to everyone who kindly gave their time to assist the local community and support the Sports Council in its work."
