An important drive to help raise alcohol awareness is bringing a special event to Dover Market Square on Tuesday 19 October.
Dover District Community Safety Partnership's Substance Misuse Sub Group has linked with Kent Fire & Rescue Service for the event in Dover, which runs from 10am-2pm. Representatives from the group will be on hand to give practical help and advice across a range of services available throughout the district.
The day is part of work by the CSP to promote a sensible drinking message across the district, and is part of the Kent Drug and Alcohol Action Team's work for National Alcohol Awareness week, which runs from 18-24 October.
Kent Fire & Rescue Service will also be at Dover Market Square promoting messages about drink driving, and showing the video "stand by your pan", which includes an important fire safety message on the dangers of cooking whilst under the influence of alcohol.
Nadeem Aziz, Chairman of the Dover District Community Safety Partnership said: "We are very pleased to be working with partners during Alcohol Awareness Week. This is part of a series of initiatives by the CSP, which includes officers from Dover District Council, Kent County Council, Kent Police, Kent Fire & Rescue Service, and representatives from other community groups, promoting a range of services and initiatives aimed at reducing alcohol misuse, and improving quality of life for residents."
