Schools across the district will help to launch the festive season on the Big Screen in Dover on Friday 26 November from 4.30pm - with the first showing of a new collection of Christmas carols specially recorded by a range of local schools. Each of the schools taking part has chosen its own carol to perform, with a mixture of modern and traditional songs, and following the launch, the carols will be shown throughout the festive season.
On Saturday 27 November, there will also be range of seasonal animations and images on the Big Screen for the Christmas lights switch on event, which is organised by Dover Town Council, with this year's lights being switched on by Sid Sloane from CBeebies.
