Last week, Dover Cruise Port welcomed the Phoenix Reisen cruise ship, MV Artania on day three of the ship's voyage from Bremerhaven calling at La Coruna, Lisbon and Barcelona en route to Genoa. This was Artania's inaugural call at Dover Cruise Port.
Christened The Royal Princess in 1984 by Princess Diana, it was re-named in 2011 when Artania Shipping acquired the vessel from P&O Cruises. With a crew numbering almost 550, MV Artania is able to welcome up to 1,260 guests. The vessel offers passengers a wide variety of facilities including eight passenger decks, a show lounge, restaurants, cafés and bars, a spa and whirlpool, two internet cafes and a cinema as well as two outdoor swimming pools and a library.
Kate O'Hara, Head of Commercial and Marketing at the Port of Dover said: "We were delighted to welcome MV Artania to Dover. It is fitting that a ship with such a royal heritage should choose the Port of Kings for its UK call."
