A group of twenty seven members from Pathfinders, a Deal-based group, had a fun afternoon out last week after PC Martin Dadd of the Neighbourhood Policing Unit at the Port of Dover organised a visit to the Port. The group of adults with various disabilities, run by Mrs. Pat Winder, meets every Tuesday evening.
Martin Dadd, known for his work in the Community, took the group on a tour of the Eastern and Western Docks with the assistance of Sgt Sally Miller. With the generosity of White Cliffs Boat Tours, they arranged a boat tour of the Harbour for the group. A cream tea at Cruise Terminal One, laid on by Riverside Catering rounded off an enjoyable afternoon. Both local traders were more than happy to assist in making this a special day for the club.
Port of Dover Police, Chief Officer, Steve Masters said: "I'm delighted that Martin and Sally were able to provide the group with such a memorable experience and I'm sure that they both welcomed the break from their community policing duties."
Mrs. Pat Winder who runs the Pathfinders Club said: "Everyone had a wonderful time and we are grateful to Martin Dadd and Sally Miller, who accompanied the group as well as White Cliffs Boat Tours and Riverside Catering who made this such an eventful day."
