Saga has announced that it is delighted to have reached agreement to ensure that the Port of Dover remains a home port for Saga cruises until at least 2016.
Saga cruise ships will call at Dover approximately 150 times over the next four years, making Saga one of the most frequent cruise lines visiting Dover.
Robin Shaw, chief executive of Saga's cruise business, said: "We are very pleased to have concluded a long-term deal that ensures that Dover remains a home port for Saga cruises until at least 2016. The service we and our customers enjoy when using the facilities at Dover are first class and we are delighted that Saga cruise ships will be seen in Dover for many years to come."
Port of Dover's Head of Commercial and Marketing, Kate O'Hara, said: "We are delighted that our great relationship with Saga will continue. We look forward to welcoming its newest ship next year and to offering our high standards of service to even more of its customers."
Robin concluded: "An iconic great British cruise line using an iconic British port - what could be better. We are looking forward to our Dover calls and in particular with our new flagship - Saga Sapphire that starts service in March - she will, amongst other dates, be in Dover on 18th July when the Olympic torch is in the town."
