Do you want to make a change to your life, to learn a new skill, or to try something new? If you said yes to any of these, then Dover Gateway and Dover Discovery Centre are there to help you.
Gateway, in partnership with the Dover Discovery Centre, is holding a 'Do Something New' event at the Discovery Centre on Friday 7 December from 9.30am to 1pm. A range of partners will be on hand with support and advice, and there will be a number of workshops going on throughout the day.
Partners attending the event will include Adult Education, NHS Health Trainers, K College, Kent Foundation for Young Entrepreneurs, Kent Supported Employment, MCCH, National Careers Service, Speak Up CIC, TG Peer Associates and the Volunteer Centre. The National Careers Service will be offering one to one sessions on effective CV creation, and the Kent Foundation for Young Entrepreneurs will be delivering 10-15 minute workshops giving an 'Introduction to Enterprise'.
Dover Gateway is located on Castle Street, Dover. Kent County Council and Dover District Council joined up to launch the Gateway office, providing increased services for residents, including a whole range of voluntary and community support services.
Dover Discovery Centre is located off the Market Square in Dover. The Discovery Centre houses the Library, a theatre and Adult Education together under one roof, and offers a variety of services to the local community.
Matthew Munson, Front of House Coordinator for the Gateway, said: "We're holding this event to help people access training and volunteering opportunities. This is an excellent way to bring organizations together, to promote the gaining of new skills, and to help people improve their confidence and be aware of the opportunities that are available."
