A new street market for Dover is being welcomed with the launch of the Bluebird Market in the town from 9am on Tuesday 6 November. The market will be held every Tuesday from 9am onwards, and organisers are inviting everyone to come along to enjoy and support the new venture in Dover's Market Square.
The market is being organised by the newly formed Town Team, which was formed by a number of local business people to bid for funds available under the 'Portas Pilots' scheme. Although the bid was sadly not successful, the team is pressing ahead with ideas from the process, including a proposal to start this Tuesday market.
Cllr Paul Watkins, Leader of Dover District Council said: "We are very pleased to welcome the launch of the Bluebird Market, and we wish organisers every success. As a range of regeneration initiatives continues to move forward for Dover, projects like this can really help to bring communities together and attract visitors to the town."
