A Dover man charged with murder has been remanded in custody after appearing in court today.
Gary Sturt, 30, of Clarendon Street, Dover, appeared before magistrates in Canterbury charged with the murder of his mother, Annette Sturt, aged 49, of Prescott Close, Guston near Dover.
Mr Sturt was remanded in custody and is due to appear again at Maidstone Crown Court on 6 June 2012.
A post mortem examination today showed that Mrs Sturt died of strangulation.
