As Dover District continues to move forward for the future as a district of growth, enterprise and opportunity, three key documents are being developed to help guide future development proposals - and your views are sought.
Dover District Council is launching three consultations today (13 December 2012), and this is your chance to have your say on the following important documents:
Discovery Park - Draft Local Development Order (LDO) - consultation runs to midnight on 24 January 2013. A draft LDO has been published for the Discovery Park Enterprise Zone in Sandwich. This is a planning tool to simplify the planning process, attract new businesses, and allow certain types and amounts of development to take place without the need for planning permission.
Land Allocations Pre-Submission Local Plan - the period for representations runs until midnight on 21 February 2013. This Plan follows on from the Core Strategy (the framework for development in the district over the period to 2026), and its primary purpose is to identify and allocate specific sites that are suitable for employment, retail and housing development.
Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Preliminary Draft Charging Schedule - consultation runs until midnight on 7 March 2013. The CIL is a new 'tariff' that local authorities may choose to charge on developments in their area. Any money collected must be used to support development by funding infrastructure, in line with the District Council's development plan.
