If you're looking to discover something fun for the whole family this summer holiday, Dover Museum holds a range of events and free Family Days - including a Seaside Family Day on Monday 29 July, and a Finds and Family Day on Tuesday 30 July.
On Monday 29 July, visitors are invited to enjoy being beside the seaside, and to make a variety of things with a seaside theme at the Family Day. Choose from mobiles, bookmarks, door hangers, windmills, colouring sheets, quizzes and much more.
On Tuesday 30 July, as part of the Council for British Archaeology (CBA) Archaeological Festival, visitors are invited to bring their archaeological finds to be identified and recorded by the Finds Liaison Officer for Kent, Jennifer Jackson. A Hands On History event is also being organised by the White Cliffs Metal Detecting Club, where you can meet members of the club, see items from their collection, and even have a go at metal detecting to find hidden treasure. There will also be the chance to decorate a miniature Roman shield.
Both events run from 10am to 4pm. Entry to Dover Museum is free on Family Days, and there is no extra charge for the activities. For more information, call Dover Museum on 01304 201066 or see www.dovermuseum.co.uk.
