Dover's RNLI lifeboat was launched on Saturday morning following a request from Dover Coastguard to assist a yacht that was becalmed in the shipping lanes.
Dover Lifeboat "City Of London II" left her berth at 11.22 with Coxswain Mark Finnis in command and proceeded to rendezvous with the 12 metre ketch 'Jigsaw' who had 4 persons on board some 10 miles out of the port 40 minutes later.
The vessel was taken in tow by the lifeboat and was brought safely back into Dover just before 2pm.
Dover Lifeboat Coxswain, Mark Finnis said: "This was a routine job for the lifeboat and our volunteer crew, but calling for assistance at sea is never routine for those involved".
