More than 100 mature cannabis plants have been seized by Kent Police after officers executed a warrant at a residential address in Dover.
Officers from the Community Policing Team attended a property in Tower Court, Tower Hamlets, on Friday (12 December 2014) and seized a significant quantity of growing and dried cannabis under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
Officers received information that cannabis was being grown in a three storey terraced house and when they attended, they found every room in the property was being used to grow or dry cannabis. Police also seized a quantity of high value cultivation equipment from the house.
Constable Matthew Hawkes of the Dover Community Safety Unit said: "Some of the plants were up to three feet tall and obviously ready to be harvested. The amount of cannabis found in the property also indicates that the plants were grown with the sole intention of distributing drugs on the street.
"Drugs ruin lives so we are committed to disrupting this type of crime. We are currently following up lines of enquiry to identify those responsible and I would appeal to anybody who knows anything about this cultivation to come forward."
