Land Allocations Plan independent public examination

Tuesday, 21 January 2014
An independent inspection of a major plan setting out new sites earmarked by Dover District Council for development across the district up to 2026 begins next week.

Dover District Council has submitted its Land Allocations Plan to the Secretary of State for independent examination, as part of the Local Plan process. The Secretary of State has appointed an inspector to independently scrutinize the document.

The examination will formally open at 10am on Tuesday (28 January 2014) in the Council Chamber at DDC offices in Whitfield, and is scheduled to take place over the following two weeks. The inspector will examine the plan in public, and has a prepared programme of the people he will be hearing from. Those taking part in the examination have already been notified, but members of the public are able to attend and observe.

The plan and an addendum went out to consultation last year, and the people appearing at the examination have been selected from those who made representations during that consultation period.
