A man has appeared in court after Border Force officers at Dover's Eastern Docks seized approximately 25 litres of cocaine suspended in solution and 10 kilos of cannabis.
Officers stopped Magnus Osei Appiah, 37, of Evan Cook Close, London who had arrived by coach from Belgium. After questioning him officers searched luggage and discovered the drugs in three suitcases.
Mr Appiah was arrested, and the investigation was passed to the National Crime Agency for further enquiries.
He was later charged with the attempted drugs importation and appeared before Folkestone Magistrates Court on Tuesday 28 October. He withheld his plea and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance at Canterbury Crown Court on 17 November.
The cocaine solution will now be forensically tested to establish the purity and final value of the drug. The cannabis had an estimated street value of £20,800
