Key renovation works have been completed to the Victorian Shelter at Connaught Park in Dover - with a range of repairs to the roof and timber posts, and work to repaint this distinctive historic feature.
This is part of a range of improvements carried out by Dover District Council at the park, and follows the recent refurbishment of the pond, which included cleaning and repairing the base, and works on the Victorian fountain, which is now up and running again.
These renovations are alongside excellent work by volunteers from the local community, the Connaught Park Appreciation Group, who have been actively involved alongside Dover District Council with a range of improvements in the park.
Cllr Nigel Collor, DDC Cabinet Member for Property said: "These key renovations to historic assets at Connaught Park have been carried out for the benefit of the community, and we are delighted to continue to work with excellent volunteers at the park. We hope people in the community will continue to take pride in this beautiful and popular local park."
