Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for any witnesses to a fatal collision in Dover to contact police.
At 8:22pm yesterday evening (13 August 2015), Kent Police received a report of a road traffic collision which had occurred on the A20 Samphire Hoe. The vehicles involved were a black-coloured Volkswagon Polo and a white DAF lorry.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Aaron Hammond from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "There were three people in the VW. Two were treated at a local hospital for minor injuries, however unfortunately, the third died at the scene. She was a 50 year-old woman from London."
The lorry driver was uninjured. No arrests have been made.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, especially anyone who may have seen the VW prior to the collision, to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538 quoting incident 13-1351. The road was closed in both directions, but all lanes were reopened by 6:15am this morning.
