Wednesday, 5 August 2015
A man from Dover was sentenced on Thursday (30 July 2015) after being convicted of drink driving, being drunk and disorderly in a public place and criminal damage.

Anthony Gary Russell pleaded not guilty to drink driving but was convicted of the offence by magistrates.

On 26 May 2014 the 36-year-old, of Clarendon Place, Dover, damaged a television, a table and a photo frame worth £850 at a pub in Clarence Place.

On 5 September 2014 he behaved in a disorderly manner while drunk in Clarence Place.

On 9 April 2015 he drove a Citroen Berlingo in Clarendon Place, and gave a breath test of 99 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates banned Russell from driving for 24 months and ordered him to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. He must also pay a £200 fine, £750 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

Disqualification can be reduced by six months if, by 28 November 2016, he satisfactorily completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.
