Next plc has signed a pre-let agreement to open a 16,266 sq. ft. store in the St James's development in Dover town centre. The new store will trade over two floors, taking advantage of the building's design to incorporate a mezzanine floor.
Next is the latest big name retailer to sign up for the 120,000 sq. ft. retail and leisure development which has already attracted investment from Cineworld, M&S, Travelodge, Bella Italia and Frankie & Benny's.
Next is one of Britain's biggest retailers with over 500 stores nationwide, alongside its Next Directory with over four million online customers. As well as offering a great in-store selection of fashions, accessories, and homewares, the new Dover store will offer 'click-and-collect' for online orders placed before 10pm the previous day.
Tim Ingleton, Head of Inward Investment at Dover District Council, said: "I am delighted that Next are coming to Dover. They've clearly seen the enormous potential of the St James's development to offer a 21st century shopping experience in the heart of Dover town centre."
Clive Lynton of developers, Bond City, said: "We've worked hard to secure this prestigious tenant for the St James's development. Next is one of the great success stories of the high street, and will bring something fresh and exciting to Dover's retail offer."
