Funding available for community groups

Community groups looking for funding for projects that can show benefit to the local area have been invited to apply for grants from the Dover District Neighbourhood Forums - and the closing date for applications is 15 January 2016.

Dover District Council is launching its community grant scheme from Tuesday 1 December 2015, and is offering individual grants from £500 up to £1,000. DDC has allocated funding to each of the Dover District areas: Dover West, Sandwich, Dover North, Dover Town, Deal and Walmer.

Successful projects last year included funding for Trudy's Wheels to provide a community car service, funding towards an educational trip for young people from Nonington to see dolphins in Cardigan Bay, and specialist riding equipment for the Alkham Valley Therapeutic Riding Centre.
