With spring just around the corner, green-fingered residents who want to cut down on car miles, and find alternatives to trips to Household Waste Recycling Centres, are reminded now is the time to start planning environmentally-friendly ways to recycle your garden waste.
As well as home composting your garden waste, residents can sign up for garden waste collections from Dover District Council. The collection service costs £40 and is valid from April to March. Sign up now and you will be entered into a draw with the chance to win a £20 garden centre voucher.
Under DDC's collection scheme, they will collect your garden waste once a fortnight, and will empty up to six bags per collection. You will receive up to 25 collections a year (one break over the Christmas period).
