Children are enjoying an exciting new play area in Aycliffe and a new-look play area in Colton Crescent, Dover following a £76,500 investment in new facilities at the sites.
New equipment includes basket and toddler swings, multi play units incorporating slides and climbing frames, roundabouts, and a range of other items. The new facilities were designed and installed by contractors HAGS SMP.
The new equipment follows consultation to find out what sort of facilities communities wanted, and follow-up surveys on design options, as well as consultation on the preferred location for the play area in Aycliffe, with the Recreation Ground selected. Funding has been delivered through Dover District Council, and is from the Housing Revenue Account and money from planning agreements.
Cllr Trevor Bartlett, DDC Cabinet Member for Property Management said: "We are delighted to launch these innovative new-look play areas, and we continue to work with our communities and partners to provide facilities for the future of the district."
