Exciting new-look play areas are on the way for communities in the district - with work due to start in the spring on the refurbishment of play areas at Colton Crescent in Dover and The Butts in Sandwich, and a new play area for Aycliffe.
This follows a range of consultation to find out what sort of facilities communities wanted, and follow-up surveys on design options. There was also a consultation on the preferred location for a new play area in Aycliffe, with the Recreation Ground selected.
Contractors HAGS SMP have been selected to carry out the works, and a range of new facilities will include multi-play units, and a variety of swings and spinning equipment. Designs are currently being finalised, with a view to work starting in April.
Cllr Nigel Collor, DDC Cabinet Member for Access and Property Management said: "We are delighted to move forward with more innovative new-look play areas in Dover and Sandwich, and to build a new area in Aycliffe, and we continue to work with our communities to invest in facilities for the future of the district."
