Community groups in the area are set to benefit from more than £22,000 funding from Dover District Council in the latest round of the Neighbourhood Forum Community Grants Scheme.
Over £22K was allocated by the Grants Appraisal Panel, which was made up of the District Councillors who chair the five Neighbourhood Forum areas, and was approved by Cabinet yesterday (7 November 2016). The grants have been allocated to 29 different community groups across the district.
Community groups were invited to apply for funding for projects that could show benefit to the local area. Grants were available for up to £1,000 in each of the five Neighbourhood Forum areas (Dover West, Sandwich Area, Dover North, Dover Town, and Deal & Walmer).
Successful groups were chosen from across the district, including the Deal Community Sports Football Club, Guston Village Hall Trust, Skillnet Group Community Interest Company (CIC), Dover Castle Archers, and the Sandwich Concert Band.
