As part of their work to continue to involve local communities in shaping the future of the area, Dover District Council has updated a key document setting out how people can get involved in the planning process - and your views are sought.
DDC has updated its Statement of Community Involvement (SCI), which sets out how you can keep informed and have your say on decisions about plan-making and planning applications. This updates the previous SCI, which was adopted in 2006.
The document sets out general principles, and includes a commitment to seek views as early as possible and to ensure that involvement is open to all.
Adrian Fox, DDC Policy and Projects Manager, said: "Everyone who lives, works, runs businesses or studies in a place is affected by the planning system. DDC is committed to involving local communities and all our partners in plan-making, so they can help shape the environment in our district. This important document sets out how we continue to take this forward, and we hope communities will take the opportunity to have their say on how they continue to get involved."
Consultation on the updated SCI starts on Thursday (21 January 2016). The deadline for comments is 3 March. For more information or to have your say, see the Planning Policy News & Consultations page from 21 January.
