Inspire Fund launched to help young people in Dover District

An important boost for young people has been welcomed at Dover District Council with the launch of the Inspire Fund - a unique package of support designed to help young people to realise their full potential.

The Inspire Fund has been set up to provide funding support to help young people to create new friendships, introduce them to healthy lifestyles through sport, and open new doors into work with opportunities to learn new skills. The Inspire Fund is administered by Dover District Council.

DDC is working with more than 100 referral partners, including Dover Family Support, and local youth centres, schools and community groups, who nominate young people for involvement in the scheme.

The launch of the fund comes as DDC welcomes its latest apprentice, Molly Purvis, who will take a key supporting role in the delivery of the Inspire Fund. Molly was welcomed to the Council this week by the Chairman of the Council, Cllr Sue Chandler, and the Cabinet Member for Skills and Training, Cllr Keith Morris. Molly joins four other apprentices at the Council, and is working with DDC's Communication and Engagement team.

We are looking forward to working with our referral partners to administer this important scheme."

Cllr Sue Chandler, Chairman of Dover District Council said: "We are delighted to welcome the launch of this fund, and to welcome our new Inspire Fund apprentice, Molly. It's important that we continue to celebrate the successes of our young people, and help them access support that is available for the future."
