Kent Police is reminding Dover motorists to lock their cars and vans after several vehicles were left insecure and targeted over the weekend.
Officers received a report of two men seen entering at least three cars in Stanhope Road at around 6am on Sunday (18 December 2016).
When officers arrived at the scene they found three vehicles had been left unlocked but nothing was reported to have been stolen.
Police Sergeant Ian Swallow said: "It looks like the suspects were targeting insecure vehicles so we would like to take this opportunity to remind motorists to always make sure their vehicles are left securely.
"In addition to locking and alarming cars and vans, valuable items should always be removed as they may be attractive to thieves."
Anyone with information about vehicle interference or theft in the area can report it by calling Kent Police on 101. Alternatively you can contact Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
