Work has started today to construct a new play area at the Triangles Community Centre in St. Radigund's, Dover.
The new facilities are designed for children up to the age of 14, and will include a range of inclusive play equipment. There will also be a picnic area together with outdoor gym equipment, suitable for all ages and abilities.
Dover District Council, with assistance from East Kent Housing, consulted with the local community in January 2017, so that people could choose what design they preferred and what equipment they would like to see. DDC has appointed Wicksteed Leisure Limited to carry out the works.
The new play area is part of DDC's work to continue to develop innovative facilities across the district, which has also included new-look play areas in North Deal Playing Field, William Pitt Avenue and Wilson Avenue in Deal, as well as The Butts in Sandwich, Colton Crescent in Dover, and Aycliffe.
