A man who robbed a disabled man in Dover has been jailed for three years.
Stephen Williams, 42, of The Gateway, Dover denied committing the offence but was found guilty and was sentenced at Canterbury Crown Court on 18 January 2017. His co-defendant Troy Smith had already been jailed on 22 December, 2016, for two years and eight months.
On 4 July, 2016, the victim was waiting for a bus in Pencester Gardens when he was approached by Williams and Smith who demanded money and assaulted him.
The victim managed to seek help from a nearby shop where staff came to his assistance and the incident was reported to police.
Investigating officer, PC Pete Leeming said: "These two acted in a deplorable manner and tried to take advantage of someone they thought was weaker than them. Williams can now join Smith in prison and reflect on their behaviour."
