At a meeting of Dover District Council on Wednesday (31 October 2018), Council agreed to release funding for the redevelopment of the William Muge/Snelgrove House site.
DDC is moving forward with proposals for the housing development on this key site, which is set to include 29 shared ownership apartments, 24 social housing apartments, and 12 town houses. Planning Committee resolved to approve the planning application at its meeting on 25 October.
A range of other matters were also considered at the Council meeting.
At the start of the meeting, the Chairman of the Council paid tribute to former councillor Clive Meredith who sadly passed away earlier this year. He had been a councillor from 2003 to 2011 and Leader of the Liberal Democrat group from 2004 to 2011.
Council also received a presentation on the Dover District Leisure Centre. Members were informed that construction of the new £26m centre is on budget and on schedule for an opening in early 2019.
Council also received a report on changes to the chief officer structure. The changes were agreed to help streamline the senior management team and ensure a continued strong level of governance.
