The new Dover District Leisure Centre which opens early 2019 is set to bring exciting new employment opportunities with recruitment underway for over 20 full and part-time roles.
Cllr Trevor Bartlett, Dover District Council’s lead Cabinet Member for the project, said: "The new Dover District Leisure Centre represents the biggest investment in leisure facilities the Council has ever made. With fully accessible facilities enhancing opportunities for residents to become more active, it also offers exciting new employment opportunities. It’s going to be a great place to work!"
The new Dover District Leisure Centre has received over £26 million of investment and will feature state-of-the–art and accessible facilities such as Kent’s first county standard competition standard pool with pool pods for easy access for the less mobile, a learner pool, 120 station fitness suite, a vibant Clip’n Climb arena with 16 different climbing challenges, a four court sports hall, squash courts, two 3G pitches, fitness studios, and a cafe.
Tony Crafer, General Manager for Places Leisure who will manage the new facility said: "The push for recruitment has begun and we are now seeking new team members to join us next year in exciting new roles that will support these impressive facilities. In some of the roles certain qualifications are required however training will also be provided, but what we are really looking for is people that bring with them the Places Leisure spirit, that is a supportive and positive attitude. Our mission is to put our heart and soul into ‘creating active places and healthy people’.
"With over twenty full and part time roles in a variety of departments, including Fitness, Clip’n Climb, Sales, Maintenance, Café, Lifeguards and Reception, there are a variety of positions available for the right candidates."
