Pub People!

4 December 2007

We ambled into The White Horse Inn the other night, ColetteB and myself, and who should we see but onetime Forumite Paul 'Topsy' Turvey. Topsy was out celebrating his birthday. I know he told me which one it was, but alas alas it failed to register in yours trulys noggin, as I'd had a few jars meself.. Did someone say 40?? He was gathering a few friends together for an imminent pubcrawl, as I understand it, but as you can plainly see he was already pleasantly floating somewhat. Topsy had plenty to say about allsorts of things and particularly about his own idiosynchrasies( Im sure I havent spelt that right!) which may have raised an eyebrow or two in the past in certain quarters. As I mentioned to Topsy himself, he is free to talk about anything relevant on here should he wish to do so, in an effort to fight his corner and to right injustices as he sees it.

In the picture on the left we have from L to R Colette Boland, then Topsy Turvey, and then... yes it is...it's none other than Stewart Dimmock again, going for Jan Tranter's record as the most photographed person on doverforum. But of course always good to see Stewart and of course the lovely Jan too.

The picture on the right shows Annie and Kev James, who were out and about helping Topsy celebrate in fine style. First time to meet them and first time on Doverforum. That Kev is a tough hombre as he was wearing shorts on the bleakest of bleak December nights...Brrrrr!!

Ah now, what do we have here? Yes its those two battle hardened veterans of late night Dover life, live and in person, none other than mega star councillor Nitro Nigel Collor and the erstwhile Stewart Dimmock. Nigel has been working extremely hard for the citizens of Dover very recently and here he is letting his hair down in the White Horse Inn after a tough week, and enjoying a good and steady pint of liguid gold. On top of the occasional pint, Nigel enjoys a bit of a chat and a few jokes, so is always good company. And so is the next man, for right on Nigel's shoulder in the photograph to your left, is that man about town again, the larger than life global activist Stewart Dimmock. I can see a trend already in these pub pictures, and in the other ones I have in reserve, and Stewart is in all of them! Oooh very bad, very bad indeed! Stewart caused a furore throughout 2007 by upsetting the global warming theory and challenging that nice American and presidential candidate for the White House itself, Al Gore. I dunno...and all he wants is a quiet life!! Stewart that is...not Al.

The only difference in Stewart between this picture and the one below, is that in the one below he has been kissed by the soft touch of a light razor!lol

After the hard slog of the Neighbourhood Forum meeting, whistles needed to be whetted, so a few ould stagers staggered across the road to the accommodating Park Inn. The three 'reprobates' here are none other than Cllr Chris Precious, Doverforum's Barry Wadsworth-Smith, and man about town extraordinaire Stewart Dimmock. We were later joined by Jan Tranter, Colette Boland, Roger Walkden, Jean Walkden, and we went on to sort out all the worlds problems..which is remarkably easy after a few jars!

there will be more pictures in due course...
