there has been no official resignation at this time
but if it is sue jones9shes not the leader by the way) you will recall she voted against labour group whilst saying nothing at group meetings, and being supported by indies(so it tells a story in itself)

What's that then Keith? That she has a mind of her own? That she won't toe a tribalist line?
It makes me shudder to think that you held office, given the level of inane comments that you come up with time and time again.
It's probably lost on all you local council types, but you are
elected to office by your constituents, whose views you are meant to represent regardless of political direction.
Given your Labour tribalism, have you
ever represented the views of a constituent from a different political background, or did your ego just take over?

Are you not in danger of falling into the same trap as Party politicos, Paul? A bit like being religiously atheistic?
I am all for seeing a distinct rise in the fortunes of Independents at the Ballot Box, but those who take the Party shilling can reasonably be expected to toe the Party line.
It is about time there was a nation Non-Party Party, unwhipped, but signing-up to a collective Party Manifesto, and thenceforward voting, while on the Government Benches, according to their conscience being swayed only by the force of argument in debate.
BUT
Even then things must stem from an identifiable Ethos.

I wonder if anyone knows who the council leader is, maybe we should turn it into a parlour game?

An interesting concept Tom and on reflection, quite possibly. As long as I don't have to read the Guardian

Howard #9, can I claim a prize with this link -
http://www.dovertowncouncil.gov.uk/Article.aspx?SectionID=22&ArticleID=2849
Although interestingly there is no mention on that page of the name of who is speaking, only that it's the Mayor/Chairman.

sorry ray, no prize as it still doesn't tell us who the leader is.
however the piece does go on to tell us that ronnie has 2 hats, unimpressive when set against the 300 or so that our sue has.
good news on the lydden link incidentally.

Firstly Paul I
please don't question what you know nothing about, but im happy to answer your direct question.
Iv always felt the best way forward is to be open and honest, on elections, I would support one candidate or other
not hide behind another party in an attempt to get others elected.
now to move on from this, in my time I represented people from all walks of life, tory/lib dem/labour in fact anyone
it didn't bother me there background, nor did I ask.
