It was Christmas in Dover the church bells were ringing,
Many different nationals joined in the Carol singing,
All differences were forgotten, as with goodwill they cared,
There was feasting and dancing and presents were shared.
Many were there from countries worldwide,
Some came in quite legally and some had to hide,
On this special night all followed the star,
Some wise men came by camel but many by car.
Folkestone Road was gleaming, the tree lights were red,
They shone out so brightly as thanksgivings were said,
For the many who had travelled to this Mecca of sorts,
Tonight asylum was free, no need to be bought!
But Christmas is brief, soon things will revert,
To name calling and politicians dishing the dirt,
"Britain for Britons no Foreigners they cry,"
Enjoy this brief respite and tomorrow ask why?
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL ,
Do nothing and nothing happens.
