Virgin is that much fun we are changing to BT at the end of the month. I can hardly believe they owned-up to having a problem their end. They usually send me out to buy filters and cables before they'll check anything their end.
Ah, that explains it. It IS Virgin.

It's likely that the DSLAM's (the green boxes in the road) haven't properly rebooted after the power cut. Once Virgin realise what the problem is they will send a signal to correct it.

The last Virgin engineer I had round to fix a TV related problem informed me that my cable connector was the wrong size - "But you fitted it" I replied (he had been here 2 weeks earlier.), Somewhat embarrassed he went out to his van and fitted the right size connector. Thankfully it's been fine ever since!
Then there was the time before that they replaced the cables down the manhole in the road outside as they were working perfectly fine and then forgot to reconnect us!

We are on Virgin and it's all working fine. I had to reboot the router after the power came back on but we have our usual 8mb.

we used to have email ending bushinternet.com which virgin took over at one time
tried this website the other day and email account came unavailable for week
when phoning the 75p a minute helpline was told ---- that to use that eamail account would now cost £25 a year !!!!!
so they know where they can go !!
I think virgin media love their excuses ive had many downfalls with them on a regular basis today i made a formal complaint

I've had no probs at all.
Mel I logged onto Virgin media last week and found out that since my broadband doubled for free my modem is not up to the job, they did a simple speed test on line and this Thursday I have a brand new super hub being delivered free of charge. suitable for cable wifi or both for up to 20 appliances including tv.
Check it out.

Just had an email from Virgin confirming my broadband speed has doubled to 20mb.
I have had to reset our wireless router more often lately and wondered if that was to do with the upgrading.

I have only ever had the one problem with Virgin Media when my TV service went down and they fixed it within half an hour otherwise no probs with the complete package TV, Phone and Broadband. More than happy and have been with them for a good few years now.

I was off line from teatime Thursday with no internet or TV, thank goodness I had a fairly new Freeview TV.
First phoned them on Thursday where we were told they would phone back, they did not so called again on Friday to be told the first call was not logged. Very helpful man on the phone tried to fix it from his end, no luck and no engineer was available until Monday, the engineer duly turns up and repairs the connection in the street box.
Here comes the really annoying bit there was a Virgin van up the road when we lost our connection, coincidence I don't believe so.

I was due to have some work (upgrade) done by Virgin on Thursday but they phoned and cancelled it on the Wednesday, they said they had other work and problems in the Dover area.
However I had no real problems with my TV other than the odd flicker of it going off then returning straight away.
