I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

It would be wise to ensure there is a strategy in place for efficient recycling of all components prior to it's dismantling.

rest assured it will go the same scrap metal yard as the tram shelter tom, thankfully they are not great on paperwork.

I thought it was super, blending the old and the modern in the Market Square, a lot of which is less than inspiring.
However, I recognise that I am in a minority in holding that opinion and that the residents above the shops in Dolphin House in particular will be more than pleased to see it go!

I did think at first it should go,but of late they have been showing some great shots of the UK from the air and the public and I was one of them were stoping and watching it they were very good, keep that up and I would like it to stay.

Me too, Ed! I like the blend of old and new, but these things have to be sustainable and there was no real post-Olympic strategy to develop their potential.

It is a bit rich for DE to claim an exclusive! The document is on DDC's web site for all to see. If the LOCOG thing had allowed any output of a local nature it might have had more value to us as a town, however they didn't and therefore the whole thing has been a regrettabe and costly episode in the life of Dover. Currently it is streaked with Seagull doins.
The report to Cabinet is an interesting read.

Will it come back for the Commonwealth Games I wonder?
As for DE claiming the exclusive....well...enough said.

Apparently, LOCOG has gone into voluntary liquidation and there would be "significant financial, maintenance and management issues" if the screen was kept.
I didn't object to it being there, but, as Simon quite rightly pointed out, had local content been streamed it would have served Dover's purpose much better.
Maybe it'll end up on Watty's living room wall....

there was a lot of local content on the screen prior to the games but didn't return afterwards.

As it's electrical equipment, removal and disposal probably comes under
WEEE regulations, and as LOCOG has gone into administration there out to be a good case for getting Panasonic to remove and recycle it.
