tongue in cheek that bit, Ross. Eventually though they will have to come to terms with doning something useful instead once the privat sector start expanding again and lifting us out of recession.

An amusing TV program last night on C4 (albeit one sided)
One piece of fact that came out of the program is that Boris is quite happy with people being physically beaten up in retaliation for journalism!

i sat through the entire hour.
i must admit that i felt a bit sorry for boris, he is so out of his depth.
he does not seem to realise his responsibilties, like watching a child being made up to class monitor.

I loved the analogy of 'A child walking through the woods, picking policies like wild flowers'

Yes I saw the programme on Boris too..the Dispatches programme. DT refers to conversation Boris had with other Tory Darius Guppy about beating a journalist from the News of the World up. Guppy wanted to have it done, maybe break the guys ribs and so on but no broken legs etc. Boris went along with it...they had the whole thing on tape. It was a conversation from a long time ago though, if it happened now Boris would be gone for sure. But neverhteless it was a very worrying characteristic on show. To be fair though Guppy was the motivator.
One of the best contributors to the programme was Simon Jenkins former editor of the Evening Standard and a very bright man. Nowadays he is head of the national trust and he listed a series of ongoing situations where Boris seemed out of his depth, out of touch. I would hazard a quick guess that Ken Livingstone will be back in charge before long.

Dont you believe it PaulB. This whole thing reeks as a stitch up of Boris. In my youth I am sure I might have had a conversation or two that I would certainly not indulge in now, perhaps about beating someone up without ever doing it or seriously planning to do it.
Boris has a sharp mind under his mop and scatty demeanour, something he cultivates which results in people under estimating him.

Sharp Bojo !
You must be joking here are some of the blunders made by Boris, the bendy buses, cutting funding for cycle paths, reneging on pollution targets and slashing their budget, proposing an airport in a stupid location, meddling in police affairs, questionable connections with developers, questionable housing policies in Tory led councils, unable to remember whether he tipped off David Camerons office prior to the shadow immigration ministers arrest, spending a £1000 on taxis for him and his entourage to attend a meeting in London - do you want me to go on?
BarryW As much as I like you, surely this was your attempt at an April Fools. The man is a nincompoop.

I think therefore I am (not a Tory supporter)

Marek, I just wish I had time to answer your diatribe points one by one, after checking a few of my facts, but will just have to leave it, too near the end of the tax year to spare the time unfortunately.

Well it looks like Boris has succeeded in something. If he wanted to convince me that his mind is as sharp as a blunt butter knife then he has.

I'm sure he is quite bright in his own way, just not conventionally. Either way he loses my support by the very fact that:
a) If he really is that bumbling and daft, he shouldn't be doing the job.
b)I f it is all an act or deception, he shouldn't be doing the job.
Can't join you on the beating up thing, never have I talked to any of my friends about having someone 'hit'. Not only are these old etonians (how ever long ago it was) solving problems with thuggery, but they're also too pathetic to do anything for themselves...I say where's my fag.
Taking into consideration that the programme was biased I still see little to justify the man in his position taking the actions he has. He patently is intelligent but I suspect also not a nice guy! his policies arent however his alone, he is a figurehead for some other more unsavoury characters I suspect.
From anther post of mine you will see that I am kind of paranoid about decisions made by the London centred businesses which affect us all - Olympics, regionalisation, transport, banking - need I go on?
