There is a concrete tower block in Leicester that was given a facelift a few years ago. It is now french navy with yellow, red and orange panels picked out in a random looking pattern, it makes grey concrete look very attractive in comparison.

Good idea, Alex, I suggest you get working on quotations for the work.

welcome to the forum simon, two interesting posts there.
have to agree with other posters about the dingy stretch from the charlton centre to asda and morrison's, not sure what can be done to improve it though.

I was so distracted by the washing that I had failed to notice the abomination on the roof!!

Christine, perhaps Burlington House would have been wall-papered or painted inside if it had ever been put to use. But from the outside it could have been painted, for example white.
In general, concrete walls can be painted to give them a better impression.

Of course like another poster on other threads, by going on about not being listerned to(when in fact a number of organisations are working hard for Dover including the T T ) these issues are best settled via private e mail, but of course thats up to the individuals.
On the charlton centre, i'm not sure moving the butcher would be in his interests? moving closer to morrisons would probaly affect seriously his trade and be unlikely to compete.
The butcher appears to have good trade where he is.

I noticed they are working on Delmaine's old shop prior to Beddy Buys moving in, a bright well lit shop will do wonders for the area.

I was only kidding, Paul, to divert from the rather harsh posts against Roger, who has repeatedly stated he's putting in voluntary dedication as to ideas on the Town market/shops aspect.
That said, though, there is a lot of graffiti up on the Western Heights monuments that could be ... wall-papered over. Chip-wood could do, or even just a few coats of paint. It can't just stay like that, Paul

It's good that Beddy Buys have taken over the front corner unit. However, not a million miles away, one of the units was used as a second hand shop. Unfortunately, on departure they have left it in a state. This fronts onto the High Street and it's not a good advert for the centre as a whole.

What a mess, being a bit of an optimist I am sure they will be back to tidy up.
Looks like a nice pair of shears, there in the front.

Being sorted out as we speak, Terry. My wife is going to take it over and have a go at selling ladies clothing. At present she has a little unit at the back of the Charlton Centre and is going to start moving today. She received confirmation yesterday that she can rent the big one at the front of the centre.
Looks like there is quite a bit of clearing up to do first. Apparently there are also stairs to the next floor and a huge storage space up there but the stairs are going to be taken out and the first floor converted to flats.
Here is the business card which she has just ordered, awaiting delivery. As you can see, she is going to call it The Bird Cage. Hope this is not viewed as an attempt at a bit of free advertising!
