14:1636519I had to go back along way to get this one up again, but last night on the T.V. news they said "If it had not been for the small coal power outlets in place now we would have run out of Gas it is only the coal ones keeping the bigger units going.
I said then and again now we still need the coal outlets and more to.
They went on to say "In five years time without more coal power we will have a very big fall in power output.
So there you have it,and not from me.

22:3736628Excellent polemic, Marek. Especially the last paragraph.
Sums up the state of our every-man-for himself nation.
"She shat on the working class.
Sold off all the council houses so that working class families can't get decent housing these days and are forced to rent from Slumlords at high prices
Sold off the Utility Companies to Private owners so that now pensioners freeze to death in winter because they can't afford the expensive fuel prices charged by these profit-hungry monstrosity companies.
Stopped free school milk
Poll Tax/Council Tax (making everyone pay a huge chunk of their income to the Local Authority in Tax with no regard as to their ability to pay this)
Decimated our Heavy Industries costing millions of jobs - at the height of her power there were 3 million unemployed!!
Destroyed the Trade Unions, robbing the working man of the right to stand up for himself
Turned this country from a place where people lived in strong communities with a sense of culture and heritage into a capitalist hell hole where everyone is laden with debt, morals and tradition has gone to the dogs and no-one gives a sh*t about each other and only cares about credit cards and consumer crap.

10:3036661But Maggie Thatcher stood up to bully boy unions working to a political agenda rather than trying to improve the lot of the working man. Yes, she had her faults, but she stopped our Government from being scared to govern.

posh barry and colette have one, easy for them just to send the staff out to cut down a tree in connaught park if the fire gets low.

21:3436992If someone wants to pay to put a coal fire into my 1970s house, please feel welcome... I would rather have something reliable even if nuclear, rather than in a lorry that will get stuck in the snow drifts.... was well and truely stuck in Deal today with deliveries not get here from any direction !
Been nice knowing you :)
