Sorry to hear about the need for heart bypass. I would have thought our "Centre of Excellence" hospitals (William Harvey and QEQM) should be able to do this type of op. Also recovery near home although of course this would get back to the "Hospital for Dover" subject. which is of course the ultimate objective for Dover... What I am immediately concerned with is the continious decline of simple health facilities for the people of Dover that should be available either from GP Practice Nurses or certainly at the (rundown) Buckland Hospital or Dover Health Centre

looking at the websites of the two hospitals you mention, they have excellent diagnostic facilities but do not go the extra step.
back to your main point, with the money being pumped that is now earmarked for buckland the facilties that you speak of should be quickly available.
they don't have to do a new build for this, just re-open old units and re-requip them.
